EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Real Questions from Real Camp Families
These are actual questions asked by parents and families just like yours. We believe in transparency and want every family to feel confident and informed before their child's first day at Great Times.
Safety & Supervision
Water safety is extremely important to us. Our pools are fully enclosed with fencing and self-closing, self-latching gates. For our lake, any area with deeper water (3 feet or more) is fully fenced. Other exposed shoreline areas are very shallow with a gradual slope. Campers are never unsupervised — all groups are accompanied at all times by a Group Leader (college-degreed adult) and an Aide (college student). Our younger groups also have an additional Junior Staff member. During swim activities, there is both a swim instructor and a separate certified lifeguard present.
Daily Life at Camp
Campers enjoy a healthy balance of outdoor play, shade, and air-conditioned indoor time. Our facility includes multiple air-conditioned buildings for arts & crafts and cooking activities. Lower Camp groups also have access to an air-conditioned building daily, and the camp property includes over 30 acres of shaded areas. We intentionally plan each day to ensure campers stay comfortable and safe, even during hotter weather.
Programs & Activities
Science/Nature Camp is a themed option giving campers hands-on science and nature-based activities while still enjoying core camp experiences. Campers will have AM and PM swim periods, a regular lunch period, and two extended Science/Nature activity periods. Activities have included lake exploration (searching for tadpoles), fossil making using plaster, leaf collection and identification, and other hands-on projects. Campers may either attend the weekly trip with their regular group or remain with their Science/Nature group.
Pricing & Registration
The easiest way to see accurate pricing for your family is by using the pricing calculator on our website. Camp pricing for our 5-day per week program starts at approximately $400 per week. There is a minimum enrollment of two weeks. New families also receive a $100 new-family credit after registering.
Transportation & Extended Hours
Our summer program runs in weekly sessions throughout the summer. Our 5-day program starts at approximately $400 per week, with a 2-week minimum. New families receive a $100 credit after registration. We offer door-to-door transportation during standard camp hours — pickup and drop-off times are determined by your home address. Extended hours are available on-site only; families using extended hours would transport their child to and from camp.
Ages & Groups
Not at all! We will have a group of campers who are entering 8th, 9th, and even 10th grade. Some of these campers are new, but many are returning campers who have grown up with Great Times Day Camp. Camp can be a great way to break up the summer for teens while still giving them a fun, social, and structured environment.
